At just 13, Marm Trivedi is already building a journey that brings together reading, writing, public speaking, academics and global exposure. A Grade 7 student of T. M. A Bookshelf That Reveals His Curiosity
Marm’s bookshelf contains books that span genres, generations and ideas. From 1984, Animal Farm and Brave New World to To Kill a Mockingbird, Crime and Punishment and Harry Potter, his reading extends across fiction and thought-provoking literature.
It also includes the Bhagavad Gita, Chanakya Neeti, Why Bharat Matters, Autocracy, Inc., Train to Pakistan, Fahrenheit 451 and White Nights.
For Marm, reading is not simply about finishing books. Each book offers another perspective, another question and another way of looking at the world. That curiosity has gradually become one of the defining parts of his journey.
From Reader to Young Author
Marm’s love for reading naturally found its way into writing.
His first book, Littel Book of Big Motivation, grew from his everyday experiences and the lessons he discovered through them. He followed it with After the Last Page, a reflection on the idea that sometimes a story does not truly end when the final page is turned.
Now, he is taking on another challenge — working towards his first dystopian novel. For a young writer, moving between different forms of storytelling reflects his willingness to experiment with ideas and explore new possibilities through words.
Finding His Voice Through MUNs
Marm’s interests extend beyond books and writing. He has also actively participated in Model United Nations conferences, where students discuss global issues, represent different countries and engage in structured debate.
He won the Best Delegate award at IIMUN and has participated in IPMUN and GEN_UN. His journey is also moving towards international platforms, with upcoming participation in HMUN and SSUNS in Montreal, Canada.
These experiences have given him opportunities to engage with different viewpoints while developing his ability to research, discuss and communicate ideas.
From Classrooms to Public Stages
Marm’s voice has also reached audiences beyond academic and MUN platforms.
He has delivered talks at platforms such as Skill Sunday Talks and TEDx Open Mic. His talks draw from his observations, experiences and thoughts, giving him opportunities to communicate ideas in front of an audience.
For a young student, public speaking can become more than simply standing on a stage. It can be a way of learning how to organise thoughts, listen to others and communicate ideas with clarity.
Strong Academics Alongside Creativity
While creative interests remain an important part of Marm’s journey, academics have continued to be a strong area for him.
At the International English Olympiad, he achieved the 30th International Rank and 1st Regional Rank. He has also continued to remain among the top students at T. M. Patel International School.
His achievements show how reading and communication can exist alongside academic learning rather than being separate from it.
A Global Creative Writing Experience
One of the significant milestones in Marm’s journey came when he was selected for the Oxford Creative Writing Scholars Programme at Harrow School in London.
He received a 40% scholarship and had the opportunity to experience a creative-writing programme in one of Britain’s well-known educational settings.
For a young reader and writer, an experience like this can open the door to new environments, new ideas and different approaches to storytelling.
Beyond the Achievements
There is, however, another side of Marm that cannot be captured through rankings, awards or certificates.
He enjoys chess, likes online gaming and, like any teenager, enjoys playing, exploring and having fun.
This part of his personality adds balance to his story. Behind the young author, speaker and MUN participant is simply a teenager who continues to explore the things he enjoys.
The Freedom to Stay Curious
Behind Marm’s journey are his parents, Bihag and Kruti Trivedi. They have encouraged him to read, explore, participate and follow his interests without making achievements the destination.
That freedom to explore may be one of the most meaningful aspects of his journey. Instead of following a single defined path, Marm has been able to discover what interests him and pursue those interests across different fields.
A Story That Is Still Being Written
At 13, Marm has already written two books, explored international literature, participated in MUNs, spoken on public platforms, achieved recognition in academics and experienced creative writing internationally.
Yet his journey is only beginning.
His story is not simply about collecting certificates or accomplishments. It is about reading widely, asking questions, exploring ideas and finding the confidence to express them.
Perhaps Marm is not collecting achievements.
He is collecting perspectives.
