From Reel to Real: Rancho’s 3 Idiots School Gets CBSE Stamp of Approval!

Druk Padma Karpo School earned a major achievement by obtaining Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE affiliation after being established for more than two decades.

The school situated in Ladakh’s peaceful environment received major recognition after Baldibas appeared in the 2009 movie which showcased its concept of student-oriented learning. The school operated with its progressive teaching system and good facilities yet failed to obtain the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) which delayed their CBSE affiliation period.

Headmistress Mingur Angmo expressed her relief and positive anticipation about this achievement as the school had maintained continuous attempts to obtain the affiliation before Ladakh became a Union Territory. Students at the school will experience expanded educational possibilities through the implementation of Classes 12 by 2028 because the school acquired its CBSE affiliation.

The creative and whole-person approach of the educational practice at the school aligns perfectly with reforms presented in India’s National Education Policy (NEP). Principal Angmo explained how both the teaching practices of his school and the NEP had similar goals which would help the institution adjust easier to the CBSE system.

The tourist attraction of Druk Padma Karpo School endures in addition to academic activity as visitors especially love to see “Rancho’s Wall.” Since shifting from cinematic fame to becoming a recognized educational institution the school demonstrates its dedication to educating students through innovative practices.
