Keep your New Year Resolution this year with our tips and tricks!

With the onset of the new year, we are ready to make resolutions and start afresh by transforming into our best selves. Still, more often than not, we make the mistake of setting unrealistic expectations for ourselves and breaking our resolution within the first week of jumping into the new year.

We have sailed in the same boat, and we realise how hard it is to resist temptation, whether you resolve to get fitter or advance in your career. Hence, we have outlined some foolproof techniques which will help you keep your resolution till the end of the year.

 

  1. The first important step is to be realistic and set attainable goals for ourselves instead of saying I will never eat fast food again.
  2. Plan your resolution properly instead of deciding on the last day of the year, as your resolution will be impacted by how your last day has been.
  3. Make a ‘pros’ and ‘cons’ list and refer to it whenever you need help keeping your resolve.
  4. Instead of keeping your resolution a secret, talk about it with your friends and family so that they can support you.
  5. Go easy on yourself and reward yourself once in a while. If your resolve is to reduce your screen time, don’t reward yourself by being on your phone all day long. Instead, go out to eat something you like with your friends.
  6. Persistence and patience are essential. According to experts, it takes 21 days for something to become a habit and 6 months to become a part of your personality.

 

Try, try till you succeed is the mantra to keeping your resolution don’t despair if you slip up or feel like you can’t keep up; you can always re-commit. Give yourself 24 hours to re-commit to your resolution and try again.
