A New Dawn in Jammu: LG Manoj Sinha Lays Foundation for 350 Smart Houses for Affected Families

Jammu and Kashmir is taking a major step towards providing relief and rehabilitation to its most vulnerable citizens. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today laid the foundation stone for the construction of 350 new, prefabricated Smart Houses in Jammu district, marking a significant commitment to the welfare of affected families.

These modern, three-bedroom residences are specifically designated for families who suffered due to recent natural calamities and those displaced by unprovoked Pakistani shelling during Operation Sindoor. The initiative not only seeks to provide safe and dignified shelter but also to instill a renewed sense of security and stability in the lives of those who have faced immense hardship.

The entire project, estimated to cost ₹35 crore, will be fully financed by a dedicated non-governmental organization, the High-range Rural Development Society (HRDS India). This collaboration between the Union Territory administration and civil society highlights a powerful, unified approach to disaster and conflict-related relief. The construction of these smart homes signifies the administration’s focus on fast-tracking development and delivering tangible support to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.
