Hyderabad has introduced India’s first-ever Virtual Reality (VR) Wildlife Safari at its Botanical Garden, blending technology with nature to offer an immersive wildlife experience. This unique attraction, set to open from December 4, allows visitors to explore forests and wildlife without leaving the city.
Key Features of the VR Wildlife Safari
- VR Safari Bus Ride – A 3-km virtual safari where visitors wear VR glasses, simulating a real-life wildlife tour. While the environments are filmed in real safaris, 3D animal models have been placed throughout the experience.
- Augmented Reality (AR) Zoo & Library – Interactive sections where children can color animals and bring them to life using tablets. Scanning animal cards also generates 3D animations of the creatures.
- Plant Sound Experience – Special tools detect electrical signals from plants and transform them into sounds, allowing visitors to “hear” plants.
- VR Kayaking – A real kayak placed in water lets users “paddle” through a virtual river using VR technology.
- 9D Cinema Experience – A short film featuring dinosaurs, where visitors feel movements, wind, and water effects, making the experience more realistic.
- 360° VR Tour of Telangana’s Natural Beauty – The safari also offers a virtual tour of Telangana’s famous waterfalls like Bogatha, Kuntala, and Pochera, and provides insights into tribal life and traditions.
- Virtual Eco-Theme Park – Adjacent to the Arboretum, this 106-acre park is being developed to educate visitors on the relationship between humans, wildlife, and nature
