A well-organised International yoga day celebration aimed to promote the benefits of yoga in improving mental well-being.
On 18th June 2023, Moksha Charitable Trust and VR Surat hosted a grand event to celebrate “International Yoga Day.” The event occurred from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM at the VR Surat. We were excited to have Advocate Vinay Shukla, a well-known Criminal lawyer from Surat, as our special guest.
The event started with a motivational speech from Bhavik Jatakia and ended with a graceful Bharatanatyam dance performance by Kriti Khairnar.
Over 100 participants joined us as we explored the connection between yoga and mental health, a group session led by experienced yoga teacher Mansi Maheta (International yoga teacher and Mindfulness yoga teacher), who talked about how everyday practice of Yoga brings balance to the body and mind improving mood and emotions.
A mindful yoga session combined with live soothing flute music played by Vasu Sudalayamani focusing on asana and breathing to calm the nervous system and to relax the body and mind from stress, anxiety and depression.
The event was a celebration of Yoga Day and a demonstration of the Moksha Foundation’s dedication to promoting overall well-being. We believe yoga could help us relieve stress and improve our mental and physical health.
Moreover, Advocate Vinay Shukla shared valuable insights about yoga’s benefits and the Youth Foundation’s important work in supporting mental well-being.
Bhagwan Mahavir Architecture College students also made a couple of yoga mats from waste fabrics to promote the theme of the Swachh Bharat Mission and sustainability.
We were grateful to the people of Surat for their support and enthusiasm in embracing this initiative and coming together as a community. Together, we celebrated Yoga Day and discovered the transformative power of yoga.
