Investment, infrastructure, government policies and planning will all play important roles. Clean-energy investment remains unevenly distributed around the world, while slow planning and limited infrastructure can hold back renewable-energy development.
This means that reaching positive tipping points will require cooperation between governments, businesses, investors, scientists and communities.
The encouraging part is that many of the tools for change already exist. The challenge is to create the conditions that allow them to grow quickly and reach more people.
