Read a first-person account of the sponsors of the ‘Glam Cricket’ event organised by South Gujarat Event Management Association (SGEMA).
Bijal – Ultimate Decors
Bijal, the owner of “Ultimate Decors”, is one of the sponsors in Cricket Glam 2023. She is the first one in Surat to start the business of renting wedding furniture, inspired by her uncle, who is in the same field. She realised that no one was renting furniture in Surat nine years ago and decided to start her own business and introduce this new concept in a city that could benefit significantly from it. She has been a member of SGEMA for a very long time, and along with this event, she has provided furniture for several other events hosted by SGEMA over the years. This year, in Cricket Glam 2023, she helped set up a marvellous fine dining area with chandeliers, adding an air of opulence to the event. Furthermore, to do this in an open setting is an achievement in itself. They usually receive good responses at all the events they organise, and since they deal with event managers and not the clients, their work is even easier. Sponsoring these events is something that the company will continue for many more years to come, supporting the social gatherings and helping others and themselves grow their businesses.
Chaipartner – Mitul Padshala
Tea, or cha, is something that is valued a lot in India, especially in Gujarat. Having a Tea sponsor in an event like this is a must, and for “Cricket Glam 2023,” the sponsor was “Chaipartner”, founded by Mitul Padshala. He is also the secretary of the event. Locally, people have been inclined towards tea recently, so he believes that selling tea is a long-term benefit. The tea craze is something that will never be forgotten in Gujarat, or India for that matter. This was his first time participating in an SGEMA event, and he decided to sponsor this because it helps create a better bond between businesses and is a very good platform for brand awareness. Through “Cricket Glam,” different businesses can connect with each other and increase brand awareness. Next time, if people want to order tea for huge events like these, they will choose Chaipartner for the same. According to him, events like these are also beneficial for the youth, who can learn from them and become someone even better. Youth like the millennials will be the new businessmen who understand their responsibilities and learn from their elders. This will be beneficial in the longer term for Gujarat and India as a whole as well.
He delivered his feelings on SGEMA and the industry through poetry in his mother language, Gujarati. The same is written below.
“SGEMA pahla ni event industry anek taklifo thi chalkati ti
Ena vendoro ni kimato maa aade dhade failati ti
Ena membro ma, ena vendero maa ek bija ne ekalta ti akdati thi
E laptop wale tarike naam enu khadatu tu
Aaje third largest event industry tareeke aakha desh maa odkhatu tu,
Aaje eni vikaas ni aandi shakad che
Aa SGEMA, aa SGEMA, aa SGEMA che,
Je aa vivdhta ekta ne khandita ni jannat che
E jannat che SGEMA SGEMA,
Aa SGEMA che, aa SGEMA che, aa SGEMA che…”
The essence of SGEMA and the different businesses involved with them is beautifully captured in this poetry, and this portrays the feelings of not only “Chaipartner” as a sponsor but all different sponsors/partners as well. People want to participate in their events and help the corporation because they have created a win-win situation for everyone.
