Britain began a 10-day mourning period on Friday and the funeral is scheduled for Monday, September 19, 2022.

Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history, died at the age of 96 on September 8, 2022, having served the kingdom for 70 years. She was succeeded by her eldest son, King Charles III who addressed the nation announcing the death of the Queen saying, “Queen Elizabeth’s was a life well lived; a promise with destiny kept and she is mourned most deeply in her passing as a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother.”
