In today’s society, where people are only concerned with things that directly affect themselves, the Surat Rotary Seaface Club is a beacon of hope. This club, which was established in 1994, serves as a true testament to what people can achieve when they come together for a common goal.
The members of this club have been working tirelessly since its inception to ensure it exceeds all of its goals and succeeds in all the initiatives; to give back to the community. They are dedicated to improving people’s lives, especially the marginalized and vulnerable ones, and have significantly impacted various areas of need.
The Rotary Club of Surat Seaface is primarily known for its efforts towards environmental conservation. The club organizes tree plantation drives and campaigns to raise awareness about environmental issues and actively participates in local cleanliness drives. It also regularly organizes events, talks and conventions to encourage conversation around sustainability and its related principles.
Additionally, the club’s impact is not limited to the local community but extends globally. The Rotary Club of Surat Seaface is part of a larger international organization that works towards global humanitarian and environmental causes.
Rotary International has multiple chapters in Surat, and Seaface is one of them. In the face of dwindling funds and a lack of initiative from the members, the chapter decided to shut its operations before one of the members took the initiative of becoming the chapter president and taking it on a journey of revival and growth because it would be a crime to let a chapter which has helped so many people in the past just shut its operations. Their dedication in the face of adversity helped them persevere in this tough situation.
Club members have contributed towards various international projects, such as providing clean drinking water in Africa and providing relief aid to disaster-hit regions. The Rotary Club inspires many, and it has brought about a change in not only the external surroundings of our city but also the thought processes and mindset of the citizens.
