World Alzheimer’s Day: Story of Compassion and love

World Alzheimer’s Day is observed annually on September 21, dedicated to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. This day aims to promote understanding of the challenges faced by individuals living with these conditions, their families, and caregivers.

Lets immerse ourselves in some wholesome incidents that took place:

In a heartwarming story, Yogendra and Lata, a Mumbai couple has become couple goals. Few years ago, Lata was diagnosed with Alzheimer. It came as a shock, which affected her whole family.

Yogendra says “She forgets things very easily, one moment she says something and then a few seconds later she has no recollection of what she said. These are difficult times but she is my wife and of course, I will support her.” He also says that she is trying her best.

Lata is an artist. She had a natural flair for it. She loved warli painting and her home was filled with these colourful paintings. Painting makes her feel at home. It’s the only thing she remembers.

Yogendra makes her revive this passion as warli painting, a tribal art form makes her peaceful and calm. Through passion for arts and support of her husband, she now chooses to be optimistic.

Paresh, her son says “She wakes up every morning brimming with optimism.”

Lata quotes “Whats not to love in this life?”

Wholesome story of Shiv and Sukla Bhattacharjya:

Sukla, got diagnosed with Alzheimer when she was 60. Shiv, her husband Shiv never stopped caring for her despite such tough time.

Shiv kept her occupied with different artistic expressions like music and arts.

He took care of her like a child.

In the afternoon, Sukla would take long naps, while Shiv started writing his story to help all the people in the world to deal with Alzheimer.

Although, Shiv passed away, his story as a caregiver’s perspective still inspires and lights a hope within.

World Alzheimer’s Day serves as a crucial reminder of the challenges faced by those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their families. By raising awareness, supporting research, and fostering understanding, we can create a more compassionate and informed society that addresses the needs of individuals affected by this devastating condition.
