Kolkata Boy is the Winner of Google’s 2022 Doodle competition.

West Bengal’s Shlok Mukherjee from Delhi Public School in Newtown, Kolkata, won Google’s doodle competition 2022, orchestrated to flag off the children’s day celebration in India. The doodle will be on the search engine for the day today.

Shlok managed to bag the top stop among 115,000 entries from across 100 cities in India. The competition’s theme was – “In the next 25 years, my India will… “ and children from classes 1-10 could participate. The tech giant announced in a press release, “We were especially heartened that the advancement of technology and sustainability emerge as common themes across many of the Doodles.”

‘India on the centre stage’ is the title of Shlok’s doodle. It expresses his high hopes for the country to embrace its strengths and create more advancements in Ayurveda, Space travel and sustainability. Shlok explains his google by saying, “In the next 25 years, my India will have scientists develop their eco-friendly robot for humanity’s betterment. India will have regular intergalactic travels from Earth to space. India will develop more in Yoga and Ayurveda and get stronger in coming years.”

Prominent personalities such as the editor-in-chief of Tinkle Comics, Kuriakose Vaisian, acted as the judges for the tournament. They finalised 20 doodles which were then uploaded for a public vote. The winner was decided after 5 lakh public votes were recorded, and four other group winners of the competition were announced in addition to a national winner.
