The religious Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage of India will start on April 30, 2025, at the time of Akshaya Tritiya which makes it a particularly holy period. The Uttarakhand government launched an organized registration system for pilgrims to ensure their spiritual path through the Himalayas becomes safe and smooth for every devotee participating in the journey.
The religious tour accessible only through foot takes pilgrims to visit four sacred shrines in Uttarakhand named Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. The registration process for the pilgrimage is available manually through multiple locations at Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dehradun and the sacred sites of Guptkashi and Sonprayag. A total of 40% of available spots remain for offline registration to offer all visitors equivalent access.
The government prioritizes the smooth operation and safety measures for the entire pilgrimage route. The safety and comfort of Yatra participants are enhanced through real-time traffic updates and weather reports as well as parking system efficiency and surveillance camera networks and proper temple site crowd management and slot distribution.
