KIARA SHAH

ISHANI MEVADA

Today, we have with us two young and bubbling authors-Ishani Mevada and Kiara Shah who are just 12 and 9 years old respectively. The immense potential that these students of Fountainhead School possess is worthy of tons of appreciation. Ishani Mevada has written a fiction story and is a poet at heart. Whereas Kiara Shah has written a fantasy story and loves painting. Speaking to them imbibes a feeling of hope and belief in our future generation says our host Subhi Gupta.

Did you never feel that you were too young to write a book or publish one?
Ishani: No, because in our school library, I have read a lot of books written by young authors published in recent years. So, I have never felt that way.

Kiara: I think writing a book doesn’t depend on your age. It depends on your thought and creativity.

Please tell us what your book is about.
Ishani: The name of my book is ‘The Amazing Discovery’ which is about two Indo-American twins who live in New York. For the summer vacation, they have come to Dwarka with their grandparents and they learn a lot about Indian Mythology there. While they are there, they make an amazing discovery. To know what the amazing discovery is, you have to read the book. Recently, I have also co-authored a book named ‘The Prismatic Eleven’.

Kiara: The name of my book is ‘What If – Lacie and her Rainy Wish’ which is about a girl who hates rain. But it so happened that while she was sitting beside her window, it started raining bricks, doughnuts, lemonade, etc. Soon, she realised that she was just dreaming and that rain is important and fun. I have also written a poem on ‘Rain’ at the end of the story.

Do you feel like celebrities in the school?
Ishani: Before my book came out, most of the students in my class and a few of my family friends knew me as an artist and now they know me as someone who writes stories, poems and books. So my acknowledgement has increased.

Kiara: Yes, I do feel like a celebrity because everyone in the school knows me now because of my book.

Can you tell us your favourite book and author?
Ishani: My favourite books are Harry Potter and Percy Jackson written by my favourite authors J.K.Rowling and Rick Riordan. I enjoy both series a lot.

Kiara: My favourite book is Naughty Amelia Jane written by my favourite author Enid Blyton.
