She presents the gayaki of KiranaGharana in her own distinctive style.She is an “A” rated artist from All India Radioand Doordarshan.
Naturally inclined towards music, she was groomed in music by her mother SandhyaMajumdarat a young age. She began her music training under the guidance of Sri SaratBadopadhyayand later on, took lessons from well-known vocal maestros like Pt. Arun Bhaduri, Pt. Nihar Ranjan Banerjee, Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty and Vidushi Purnima Choudhary.
She has composed bhajans and songs in multiple languages including Hindi, Bangla, Rajasthani, Marathi and Gujarati.Honoured with the title of ‘SURMANI’, she is a prominentperformer of this generation known for her soulful and poignant melodies.
Throughout her glorious singing career, she has performed at reputed music events in numerous Indian cities as well as foreign countries like the UK, USA, Bangladesh, etc. She is a genius in her sphere of Indian classical vocal rendition. She is a listed member of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.She is the recipient of numerous prestigious accolades that were conferred on her by A. I. R, ITC Sangeet Research Academy and many other elite national and international music organizations.
