That feeling you get when a whole city comes together for a single purpose? That’s exactly what I felt during the Tiranga Yatra 2025 in Surat. It wasn’t just a march; it was a powerful, moving experience that filled me with so much pride.
Walking from Y Junction to Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, you could feel the energy in the air. The streets, normally packed with cars and scooters, were instead filled with a sea of people wearing orange, white, and green. Everyone was there—kids with their parents, groups of college friends, and even some grandparents—all smiling and waving their flags.
The absolute highlight for me was seeing the massive, one-and-a-half-kilometer-long tricolor flag. It was carried by thousands of people, and watching them all work together was just incredible. It wasn’t about who you were or where you came from; it was about being an Indian and celebrating our country together. The patriotic songs blasting from speakers along the route gave me goosebumps.
This year’s yatra felt even more meaningful because of the “Har Ghar Tiranga – Har Ghar Swachhta” campaign. It wasn’t just about showing our patriotism for one day; it was about taking that spirit home with us. The city had been buzzing with activities for weeks—cleanliness drives, drawing competitions, and quizzes in schools. It felt like a genuine effort to make our city and our country better, not just a one-day event.
As I marched along, surrounded by thousands of my fellow citizens, chanting “Jai Hind” and watching the tricolor wave proudly, I felt a deep sense of connection. The Tiranga Yatra wasn’t just a parade. It was a beautiful reminder that no matter our differences, we are all united under one flag, and that feeling of unity is something truly special.
